Well it's officially over a month that I've been on the meds. My life is vastly improved, with just a few minor negative things: I'm sooooo sleepy all the time. I had to stop taking my pills at lunch because I was too tired the rest of the afternoon and evening. Now I take them a bit after supper so they help me to sleep. Right now it's 3 PM and I'm yawning uncontrollably, even though I took them last night at midnight!

My sex drive isn't very good, but I've been doing it anyway. Sometimes I get into it and enjoy it anyway; sometimes, like last night, I just do it to be close to Dylon and let him have a good time.

I haven't had a normal poo for a month, just weird little dribs and drabs. I do that about 4 or 5 times a day, and my butt is sore by bedtime from all the wiping. I've been looking into colon cleansing, but since the boards are costly I'll have to improvise if I decide to go ahead with it all. I've been taking psyllium too, but it's hard going as it makes the water slimy and thick and hard to drink.

I'm still feeling very social, wanting to go out, do things. It's easier to do my chores, though not as easy as I'd like. My prescription has been reduced to half-dose so we can see if the 50 mg was too strong... I hope the 25 will do the trick. If not, the next move is to incread the thyroid I believe. I've got another month of that dose though so it will be 4 more weeks.

I've been more energetic, more enthusiastic about work and stuff. Also I've started a meditation group to meet on Full Moons so that should perk things up a bit.

It's been two weeks now that I'm the meds, and I'm sloooooowly beginning to have more energy and initiative. Been keeping the house clean, doing laundry, going shopping with Dylon much more often and willingly than before.

I'm sleeping better, getting tired around 1 AM and being able to drop off after not too long. I woke up at 8 this AM to be at work by 9 and was tired this afternoon but didn't have a nap, instead came downstairs and did some sewing (mini-quilts for Yule gifts).

I'm feeling way more relaxed around people, and very social! I can hardly stand to be home any more. Also, best of all, my moods are even-- no depression, no franticness around strangers, etc.

My appetite is smaller, and many times I have just a piece of bread for lunch, so I can take my meds. No breakfast, as usual-- I tried to eat a slice of bread this morning before going to work and I thought I'd barf. Scarfed down two sammiches for lunch, tho'.

I do notice that my anti-children attitude has come back somewhat, and my baby rabies has receded somewhat. I have no idea what this means. My vaginal area was sore today the way it was when I was getting my period regularly-- it would be like that the day before the blood came. So, perhaps tomorrow I'll have a period! Who knows. Sure would be nice for my body to become more normal again. If I do decide I want to have a baby, I'd like to be able to get the job done.

Gramma was all upset about my taking meds, having this problem, etc. She's been doing her rosary and lighting candles for me, bleh. I had a serious talk with her and hope she feels better about it now. I think I'll call her tomorrow, see how she's feeling about it all.

The pharmacist tells me that the sleepiness should wear off in a month or so. I sure hope so! I'm sleeping soooo long every night, and am sleep most of the day too. Feeling great apart from that-- nice evenness of mood, no weird baby crises, no spastic manic episodes, no depressions or crying. I feel like a normal person. It's been so long I can hardly remember what it's like.

I got my results back on Friday-- everything is great with me except that I have a thyroid condition as well as bipolar disorder. Doctor prescribed me thryoid replacement therapy as well as the Zoloft, and after a week of agonizing over the decision to take prescription meds for it instead of going the alternative route, I had them filled and started taking them last Friday (Sept. 28).

It's been 5 days and and the only change I can tell so far is that I seem to be very sleepy all the time-- went to bed last night at 1 AM and just kept sleeping until 2.30 PM today! That's over 13 hours sleep, which just doesn't seem right. Right now I am yawning fit to break my jaw and my eyes are bleary.

Of course, it could all be related to this cold I've been battling the past few days (it showed up on Friday too, or maybe it was Thursday) but I'm going to wait a few weeks before passing judgment.

As for my mental condition, I've been obsessed with The Sims for the past week, playing it most of my awake moments, but it's starting to pall on me so I'll be getting back into "regular" life again, I think (whatever that is). Autumn here is gorgeous, maybe I can get D to take me a for drive through the leaves. I should probably rake the leaves and mow the law, sweep the porch and clean up the yard in general.

I should also clean the house, but... I can only hope the Zoloft helps me deal with this inertia and procrastination. I WANT to do these things, but just can't seem to get up and do it. Sigh.
